Not 4 gray

Says covers gray and washes out after several washes.  Did not cover gray, at all.  I left on for the full 40 minutes.  Disappointed.  Love the rich brown tome though.

Excellent

Really like the colour it lasted slot longer than I thought it would about 10 washes . Didnt dry my hair out or make my scalp itchy , would definitely buy again

I really like this product - wish i could give it a 4.5 score

This is a temporary dye so I use it every two weeks. It fades a bit in that time, as you would expect. However, i found perm and semi perm brunette salon dyes faded a lot in two weeks too. When salon or shop products fade they turn my hair very brassy and also dry but this product doesn't (the biggest reason i like it)I find all hair dye really annoying to apply and this is no different. I find it hides the greys enough for me not to mind them and it has a good tone (not too orange) unlike ALL salon and shop dyes i have tried (i have tried so many types trying to avoid the orange glow in the light - my hair just has that tendency). I've now truly settled on this product and have used it for a year or more. Thank you Christophe Robin!

be careful

I think this is a fab temp colour for people who dye their hair to blend in roots ect. But as I have grown out my colour and only occasionally want a change that will wash out completely I am not sure this is a good match. I used this a couple of weeks ago and it is still in my hair and I am thinking that I might have ruined my hair, although it has faded slightly it has not washed out after a few washes as other reviews have stated. Maybe it is because I use sulphate free shampoos- only time will tell. But if you love your grey and are after a temp change proceed with caution with this product.

Worst color gel Ever! Avoid!

1

This was the worst experience I ever had with Color Gel. Literally nightmare. It destroy my hair. Avoid if you can. It is not worth the ey and time. You will be disappointed.

Good choice for a quick change

This product is great for giving a temporary uplift to your hair. It provides a nice colour and shine that makes your hair look healthy and would be brilliant to help find the right colour for you. Much better colour than others I have tried and little to no transfer. Would totally recommend

Great packaging

5

Great packaging, instructions easy to follow. Unfortunatly I couldn't use as had a small reaction after doing a patch test. Such a shame as it looked like it was going to be such a good colour match.

Lovely smelling and easy to apply

This colour is fabulous! So easy to apply and you get great coverage. Smells good too!

Soft but static!

4

First up I will admit I am not a fan of the home dye, the effort and the waiting is too much of a faff for me and while this was much easier to apply that other home dyes I have tried it still needed to stay on a long time for something that isn't going to last. Aside from that, it did the job, covered most of the greys and gave some nice tones. It also left my hair lovely and soft but for some bizarre reason it left my hair crazy static for the first couple of days after application. I couldn't touch it without looking like I'd been in some experiment never mind brush my hair!!! Thankfully that passed after a couple of days and normal hair styling could resume. At this stage I have only washed it once, I feel it lost some of the colour, but not the coverage yet.

An interesting alternative to my usual dye!

I was kindly sent this to review, along with the brightening shampoo. The shampoo works really well before using the colour gel, as it's really good at clarifying. The gel colour was a bit of a change for me, I usually use permanent dyes. I haven't dyed my hair in ages and I am going steadily more grey, so I was keen to try it. I wasn't convinced there would be enough product (the bottle says two full applications on mid length hair or several top up/targeted applications), but I did indeed use roughly half the bottle on my whole head. Applying to damp hair was a little different for me and I initially thought it was a struggle, but it went on fine, and it's non drip which is excellent! There was some quite heavy staining to my skin which I was worried about but it washed off well. I really liked the scent, not at all like a usual dye, not headache inducing either! I was really scared of the colour of the water when I washed it off, but I needn't have worried! My hair is quite dark but it will obviously lighten up as I wash it. My hair feels soft and glossy and much better than when I use permanent dye. Considering I still haven't had a post-lockdown haircut I think this is a winner! My greys are much more blended in and I think it looks really natural, I don't think anyone will particularly notice that I've dyed my hair which I think is a good thing. I think the only thing that puts me off is the price, at £30 for a bottle. Although, if I was using it just to touch up my greys, that bottle would last a long time! I would definitely consider buying the shampoo again as it was really good at clarifying my hair, but doesn't have sulphates, something I actively avoid!
